Structure in Carancahua Cove?

Gents - I am new to this website and really enjoying the postings and details. Now that the Fall is near, I am trying to get down to the West Bay more. On Gooble Earth, I see manmade structures in Carancahua Cove (grid of former walls) which look accessible with footpaths inside the state park. Can anybody share their knowledge of what this used to be? Does it hold fish? Tips on fishing it? Worth the walk or should I try another area inside the park? I was thinking of hoofing it past the footbridge and fishing the incoming tide late Sat afternoon in Butterowe.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated ... along with your tolerance of a "new guy" posting ;-)

They are hard & concrete like almost they were put there after creating the state park if I'm not mistaken?... Perhaps I'm wrong there but I know they hold no fish, your better off working the geo tubes it get's shallow back there and the hard rock / concrete structures will surely scratch up your hull.

I believe ya can walk em from the park. I saw a guy with his young kids (like 6-8 y.o.) pull up and anchor on an inside tube and they walked about 1/4 mile all along them-some have "gaps" and may get muddy and likely sharp barnacles, so watch out for that.

Most of the grids in the coves are dredged material with cord grass planted on it. All that was a ranch at some time. There are several concrete cisterns under water and there may be old concrete foundations from buildings or pens.
