  • IT IS COMING DOWN and the WIND IS HOWLING!

Not sure who esle is on the island right now, but the wind is howling around 30 plus and the rain is pounding us. Did not have a chance to look at the surf this morning, but yesterday it was really high. House is shaking and our dog just went into the bathroom and shut the door

Tropical Storm made landfall in S Texas / Mexico area and I didn't pay any attention to it until I flipped on the news finally.

Same here Coe. I did not pay too much attention until we took Buck down to the beach for a walk and the surf was really high. I heard this morning on Fox that there is a tropical tornado warning for the gulf coast????

Tornado watches are typical with any tropical system because of the rotation it can easily spawn small tornadoes capable of some damaging winds.

My wind gauge (Smokey Joe grill) has not fallen over, so the wind did not get over 30 mph at my place (Palm Beach). But there has been a nice bit of rain.

I was like Coe and didn't watch the news, but noticed yesterday the winds gusting to 30 and the tides all the way up in our yard. Pulled over on the way home and took this picture from my cell.....victory at sea!

It was crazy all week-end. I took my brother-in-law fishing in the surf on Saturday in an attempt to get away from the rest of my in-laws.

We were pounded in the surf. Just as I was about to contemplate the idea that it might not be worth it, and believe me getting pounded in the surf vs the chit-chat with the in-laws is a toss-up, my brother-in-law caught two specks at the same time on a tandem rig.

The guy hardly ever catches anything, so I was forced to keep getting beaten down by the surf for another half hour. Neither of us had another strike. I kind of think the two trout grabbed his plastics just to hold on to something in the surf.

It got crazy here about 30 minutes ago. Wind was calm And then picked up big time and dumped some large rain on us! Don't have to water anytime soon.
