  • Drowning At Jamaica Beach

We saw the beach all lit up and heard all the emergency vehicles and saw people looking around last night. We wondered what happened. Apparently a woman was drowned in the strong currents. The body was recovered several miles down the beach.

The Mrs. and I yesterday were looking at the surf and I was telling her how bad the rip was down the beach with the high East wind.
          It's always very sad.....

                  Here is the name.

"Veronica DeLeon Jaure, 44, was with her family on the beach area near the first beach access area at Jamaica Beach when she waded out in the water at about 9 p.m. Her son was supposed to join her in the surf, but when he started in he could not find his mother, Galveston Beach Patrol Chief Peter Davis said."

Not, sure, but it sounds like 2 different events with the timing involved. Possibly 2 drownings? Nope not. The beach water looked terrible today. We need a life guard here, or at least a general beach closing by the local LEO's to prevent this sort of thing. Just a thought. Geez. Where is common sense? Sending my thoughts and prayers to the family(s) involved.
