  • We are back!

Not back in Houston, but back to full life on Anegada.

Power was restored here about 5:30 this afternoon. We had the honor of BVIEC (the power company) using our truck to pull up the last wire needed to get Anegada back 100% power. That is our truck on the left tensioning the high line (13.2kV).

Here is Mitch (our lineman) securing the line. Nancy says that Mitch is her favorite man - other than me - because we have power again (which means A/C in the bedroom).

Now back to clean-up. With all the coconuts down, a fair amount of time is spent cleaning and drinking....

Oh man, that's awesome. I was afraid it might take weeks! When coconuts are a major worry, you know things are gettin' back to right. How's it going re-floating the beached boats, and did the Whaler make it ok? - Sandy

The whaler made it through the storm with no damage. We pulled it ashore and tied it to a tree on the south side of the island - which was hit the hardest. The seas came past where we tied the whaler and filled it with water. All I had to do was pull the plug.

Now that's living. I think it's pretty cool where everyone pitches in to get a job done. Can you imagine our electrical companies knocking on the door asking to use your truck. lol

I'm now getting ready to research your island and see what it takes to live there.
