Yes sir ! Very scary to think about August and September when things really get into full swing.

They say she'll be TS Bonnie when she visits Miami Friday. By Monday it's touch and go whether Bonnie will be a "minor" hurricane heading for Pensacola. My teenage daughter Beth will be visiting Pensacola at that time.

        Teenagers are natural hurricane magnets.

I read an article yesterday indicating that the major forecastors were scaling back their predictions for a busy season this year.

This was based on the lack of activity to date as well the output from several of the long range global models.

          Let's hope that's right.

Sure seems like a strange year for tropical storms - it's nearly August and we haven't made it to a "B" storm yet. The one over by Puerto Rico (97L) looks like a fizzler now.

Of course, your big "Cape Verde" storms forming off Africa really haven't started cranking up yet, storms such as Ike. Ths kinds of storms are more numerous in September and October. Might see some yet, dunno what the gurus are sayin' 'bout that.

Last night the storm finally came to life a little, headed more towards to west towards the NOLA/Galveston direction perhaps. None of the gurus are bullish on what could become TD Bonnie, but I know better than that when a cyclone gets loose in the Gulf! Might keep an eye to the sky. -sammie

A bus of teenagers heads for Pensacola on Saturday morning. I'll predict the storm will start veering towards the Florida panhandle late in the day Saturday.
