    GGF, you are 100% right!
Good luck. Let Donna know that she will feel better once it's done. She'll be sad and there will be tears, but will still feel better.

It is a tough decision but it is best for Star not to suffer. We went throught the same thing with Mercedes, 15 year old Cocker Spaniel. It was the hardest on Kim, but she knew it was best for Mercedes. Good luck with the hard decision and we will be thinking of you and Donna.

My heart goes out to you and Donna. Having to put a family pet down is one of the hardest things a person will have to do his/her entire life. In 25 years I had to put down 2 family pets and our 13 year old beagle "Lucky" is graying and starting to slow down a little. I don't think I'll have any more pets after this one. God bless Star.

Had a rough night with her. She would not fall asleep and just kept trying to sit up and then fall over. Donna told me this morning before leaving that I need to make appointment, which I am not looking forward to doing!

That is brutal. Fortunately a new puppy can ease the pain. Give Donna a hug from me!

Prayers to you both for this hard decision, but please do not let her suffer. And yes, they are like part of the family. Never easy to do anything like this. My heart goes out to yall.

Hope it all works out Mike. We went through the same problem with our Aussie and it wasn't easy, but time will eventually heal if the inevitable has to happen. We have lots of pictures and memories of Cobber and although we have moved on to another "family member" we will always remember the good times we had with that nutty dog.

We've fostered and cared for over 30 dogs over the years. Each one has a special place in our memory. We tend to remember their happiest times; puppyhood stumbles, squirrel hunts, cricket pouncing, running dreams, etc. Starr and your family will be in our prayers.

                                To all,
Thanks again for all the prayers and thoughts! We have made the decision to lay her to rest today at 4:00. This has been a really hard day so far and I don't see it getting better. I am 6'6" and I think I am strong, but this is killing me!!! I know I am going to cry on the way there and thru the whole process.

GOD SPEED STARR, I WILL ALWAYS THINK OF THE GOOD TIMES WE HAD!
