  • Tide Chart-SLP to Christmas

Settle this argument between myself and two of my "Professional Tide Guru's". If your fishing Cold Pass, and go by SLP High Tide- We'll use this Friday- H. 5:17am. Then go by Christmas Bay High Tide- 10:13am. When is the High Tide for Cold Pass. We have 3 different answers, loser buys bait & cleans fish.

    Unpossible to tell.

IMO, various tidal charts use different criteria for calculating tides.
One may say 08:10am, the next 10:00am for the same location.
The numbers are an approximation at best.

In your scenario the tide is going to start moving into X-mas as soon as it starts moving into SLP. Cold Pass isn't that large so its gonna peak before X-mas but not by much.

I agree with Moonpie. I always notice the tide is "close" to projected, but often off by quite a bit, sometimes an hour or greater.

But, If I were to project the Cold Pass tide, I would use SLP over Christmas. really, I would take the two and cut it in half, but I bet the tide would be on the half closer to SLP than Christmas. A lot of water moves out of SLP very quickly and it sucks straight out of Cold Pass and West Bay. Christmas will be a little behind, but not terribly far IMO. Good luck.

So I've got "high tide peak in CP about like Xmas"
"high tide use SLP over Xmas"
"take to two and cut in half"
Anyone else, so far I dont have to buy or clean. Thanks Moonpie
Rather not clean shark or rays.
