  • Breaking News- Oil Spill

Below is an excerpt from USA Today plus a link to read the entire news story.

GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — A top Texas official said Monday that tar balls from the Gulf oil spill have been found on state beaches, marking the first known evidence that gushing crude from the Deepwater Horizon well has now reached all the Gulf states.
Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson said two crews were removing tar balls found on the Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston Island on Sunday.

B4 its over we will need more crews, sux

I remember back in the late 70's early 80's tar ball everywhere. You would dodge them if you could. Tar was part of going to the beach. My surf board would be black tar wax.

Now that it's hitting home beaches, I feel mad.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.

Well, I actually did not think we would see any of it here.
              Guess I was wrong.

                Oil

Still may not see much. Tar balls are common on the beach and even though these matched oil from DWH, the ball were not consistent on what they are finding to the East of us meaning they don't believe they traveled here by currents rather by a ship. Gater

That's why all the old homes have the signs that used to say check feet for tar before entering...

Just apart of going to the beach X2!!

I remember getting my feet cleaned off with diesel or paint thinner should I step in one...

it WAS a part of going to the beach, but I haven't seen any tar since forever. This is going to suck.
