  • Paddle Surfer Drowns in Terramar

Around 9:00 PM last night the beach at Terramar was full of fire and rescue looking for a 37 year old male that was paddle surfering at night. Talked to a police officer this morning and the body was found around 5:00 am.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL OUT THERE, MOTHER NATURE IS SOMEONE YOU DON'T MESS WITH!!!!!

    Prayers sent to his family.

Not too smart to go surfing or paddle boarding at night, especially in current like that and all them bull sharks. Oh well, another good man done gone.

I found out earlier that it was a family that I actully saw walking to the beach when we came back from the West End Marine. I said to Donna, I sure hope they are not going out there to swim because it is unsafe. I thought to myself, should I turn around and warn them about the rip currents, but I did not. I feel guilt!!!

Aw man, Explorer, that's the worst feeling. All you had to do was talk about sharks eating in a feeding frenzy at night and they would have RUN the other way, back home.

Wow that is sad... Mike I have lived here my whole life
part of it in treasure island at slp and I have watched them
every summer pull somebody from the water in a bag and take them
out of the private launch in treasure island.... I know how you feel
I saw a guy and his family fishing near the bridge ..... Later
they recovered him and one of his children ..... We need to be smart out there!
                    Prayers for his family

So I went to the beach yesterday and the water was really rough again. Not sure about the rip currents, but once again I saw families too far out and some of them were young kids! Don't know what to say at this point!

Mike you can't let this bother you bro, they are going to do it if you tell them or not.I learned my lesson not listening to my friends one time and the current took my butt side ways down the beach.I have been caught in rapids in New Braunfels that have scared me to death,I have been held under by big waves in Mexico surfing to where you just wish you could stretch your lips up to get some air,It's funny how you leave texas with a 12 foot leash tied to your long board and when you get back it 24 foot,You have to respect that water and some just don't get it!
