  • Anybody know the about yakers rescued at TIKI

    I just heard about some yakers that got rescued around tiki island.Anybody got more info about it.
    I LIVE IN A SMALL COMMUNITY WITH A LARGE PROBLEM AND A PROBLEM.

    I could imagine the winds were really blowing yesterday! I saw 0 people on water. Glad they are safe. Anyone check TKF?

      No, but my lab got rescued yesterday here on Tiki. It seems that there is a need for a Bering Sea type rescue team for when a lab is found in a Tiki canal. Seriously.

      I'll look around and see what I can find.

              I saw two people in a tandem red kayak fishing near the intersection of the ICW and the channel to go back to Cos-way. Crazy dumb. That was at about 7pm so possible it was these two guys but probably not since they were reported missing by then. Bunch of people bank fishing the corner of the causeway there too.

                I bet they will have a hand held next tiem they go out. I take my floating vhf out every time. Clip it to my shorts.

                      What... no fishing report from the trot line toes in the water all that time!
                      jk... Glad they are safe and no that's really not a good spot to be in a yak. Bet they get one of those personal beacons for next time.

                      I used to think a free float EPIRB was expensive but when you think of it you can spend a grand on tires that wear out in a year, year and a half but can't spend the same on a EPERB that will save your life and be with you for the life of your boat (practically, lol)
