Water was touching the support and foundations of the front row homes yesterday on Treasure Island where the old pier was (Follet Island - Freeport side of San Luis Pass) I didn't take any photos but the waves were touching that I know.

How big is the surf? And I bet Kenny will let you have his reef today! (Sorry, I had too)

Water is getting up, but the worse I ever saw(excluding Ike) was Galveston Bay touching across 146from the Clearlake side to the bay side at the base of the Kemah Bridge. I literally drove back from Lousiana and had to drive down the center line until I reached the bridge. I can't remember the tropical storm but believe it was in 95 or 96.
    Probably francis in '98.
The tide is over the bulkheads but not on the roads here that always flood. Another 12" shouldn't flood downstairs garages. Another 18" might!
If you're in the middle of JB which is the lowest, I'd keep watching it closely!

Where's the West End Marina Bar Cam when you need one? Be great to see the tide about now. I certainly hope the new facilities stay above water.

Fortunately, NWS forecast for the weekend is not that bad. The 4th is still gonna be a happening time on the westend. Nearshore is calling for:
Friday night...Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots decreasing to 5 to
10 knots after midnight. Seas 2 to 3 feet. A chance of showers
    and thunderstorms.
    .Saturday...Southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. A
    chance of showers and thunderstorms.
.Saturday night...East winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 feet or less. A
    chance of showers and thunderstorms.
