  • Bastrop Bay

I am thinking about putting in at Bastrop marina and fishing from there down to Bastrop Bay. Any recommendations on where to focus my efforts or what to look out for. I am new to this fishing area so help is appreciated. I have enjoyed the forum and I just joined today.

If you've never fished Bastrop Bay, you'd better take someone that has. That bay is 1 solid oyster reef. If you're coming from Bastrop Bayou and come into Bastrop Bay, you need to stay to the right of the "L" pvc pipes and left on the way back or you're gonna have a really bad day if you don't. A good pair of polorized shades will show you where the hard spots are.
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

Great advice from 007. I ran the bay day before yesterday for the first time in a while and you really need to follow the markers.
