What the Hell!!! I had heard the same thing before my wedding which was held down on the west end. I contacted Galveston PD and was told it was OK to have alcohol on the beach, the only thing was no glass bottles. Actually was told the same thing by both city and county.
that broke up the party pretty fast saturday. if they enforced that, there wouldnt be anybody on the beach.
speaking of washers, ttu wader really does suck. me and ap won about 32 straight games and even started spotting them up to 10 points in a 21 point game. We started throwing behind our backs and under our legs to make it fair.
and kenny, ive been on a diet and thought i was starting to look pretty good.
and when i first saw the title of this thread, i thought it was about "No Beer" left on the shelves of stores in the west end after last week. it wouldve been a good time to buy coors lite stock.
X2 JT. I thought it meant a beer shortage-oh sheeet!!
I can say Alex does suck at throwing Washers-personally saw JT and AP kick his butt. For fun, they let Alex and Robbie get close on one game, then slam them to the floor. It snapped their confidence like a dried out stick.

Greg,
I know which officer you are talking about, he came by the house last week to introduce himself. He was riding the mule and was a younger guy. I think his name was Chris and he was really nice to Donna and I. Oh well, I guess I will just have to keep my FWE coozie on my canned beer and hope for the best
My entire family is going on vacation for the entire week next week down there in Sea Isle. I think they rented four houses all next to each other. I can promise you that this will be a problem.
Hey be glad they let you keep your beer. I was on Lake Houston back in the 80's and popped open a beer on my friends boat at what I thought was 12 o'clock. In a distance... wow look at that. Was the first time I saw a boat with what looked like police lights. Someone really must have done something wrong... sip.... sip..
Not only did he make me pour out my beer, 2 min to 12 according to his watch, I got a $95 ticket for drinking before 12 on a Sunday!! To top it off I was back about a year later and the same officer came up to us to check the boat and his first words were "Hello Mr. Broussard". That was the last time I ever went there.

Nah, just bring the mini kegs to the beach and you won't have an issue...
A long time ago during spring break there was a riot, some stabbings, and a death, so Galveston city council decided to ban beer on the beach. I forget which year it was, and sometimes spring break riots do happen - beer is always involved.
That's a pain for professional, responsible weekend drunks like us. A couple dink kids and gangbangers can't hold down a coupla beers? I mean, can't fish and play washers and enjoy the beach unless you start pounding the suds early!
One thing we did was to head down the beach to one that allows canned beer on the beach, not a bad idea. We also bring along firewood for a bonfire in the evening - some counties allow this. Nothing like beer 'n' brats on a campfire at night.
Way I look at it, most of the cops like beer more than me or you, so they don't like giving real people a ticket for it. One time I opened a Lone Star on the beach and the cop could hear that top going off, the unmistakable sound of a beer. Poor fella like to get whiplash, and you know he really wanted one if he could.
No Beer!?!?!?! How in the hell are you supposed to go the the fricken beach with No Beer!?!?!?! That's ridiculous!! But, yes, I've known about it for a while... you just gotta keep it covered or pour it in a cup..
That riot Swells was due to the "Kappa" weekend thug fest. Darn City wanted those bad people down here-ex Mayor Bo Quiroga more or less invited them after Port A told em to buzz off. Those wonderful folks stole everything and walked tabs-most restaurants closed during Kappa's Beach party weekend, gee, even the 24 hour Walmart (which normally is only closed xmas day) after the 2nd year of kappa weekend, they closed at 8 or 10 pm. Low life scum cause problems for good folks. plus the worthless POS COG council of course overreacted. And they wonder why folks hate the city gummint here-just ask JT-got all state permits and county permits but GD city is holding them up. Glad I live in Jamaica Beach-no POS council and Mayor like Lyda, Bo, LeBlank and the rest of them-they should take a long cruise to Somalia.
