They had run the tree cap Thursday night and had it locked in place then, but left the vent holes open so hydrates wouldn't form. They will be removing this small tree cap and replacing for a larger one in the next few weeks. These tree cap's will not capture all of the oil and gas and I'm sure some vents will still need to be left open to prevent hydrates from forming.Corndog and I have a friend out on the Enterprise the DP rig doing the work on the well.

I would like to see all that oil go to Florida or Texas. So much easier to clean off the beach instead of the Marsh. If there still using shovels and rake's to clean they haven't got much oil to clean...heck I have to pull a sweeper behind my mower just to clean leaves out of my yard, because a shovel and rake don't make any sense.

Lurefisher there's nothing to seal on top of the LMRP (Lower Marine Riser Package). The LMRP or (Lower Marine Riser Package0 is run and retrieved with a Tree Cap,they just modifyed a tree cap and installed vents. That is the same configurition of trees and LMRP that I ran on the BP Trokia well's.I have run dozens of this same equipment when I was doing open water interventions. Trokia, Mansa, Thunderhorse are all using this equipment for the LMRP.

I agree, though I don't wish it on anyone it will be much easier to clean off the beach. G

Heck yea, I had 12 world records of oil completions for water depth back in the day..Starting in the early 90's with Popeye,Pompano,Kings Peak,Canyaon Express...we were doing deep water completions in 7000 ft water depth in the mid 90's.I have first oil from (Shell,Mensa) (BP Trokia,) Canyon Express, Popeye, pompano just to name a few.20 years in deep water completions and still building state of the art subsea control systems.
