  • FishWestEnd Celebrates 5 year Anniversary

Tomorrow will officially put us at our 2 year mark as being open to the public. Three years prior to that we ran a simple website with a bunch of links and a photo album to tell our fishing stories. Beach Bum Bailey, Blackbeard, Redfish Rob & Unclehandy have all been here since we began and are considered our founding members.

We started with 5 members back in 2005 and held that number until 2008. We didn't really have "users" then in 2008, with the aid & expertise of Webmaster "T" we implemented VBulletin onto our site and changed the look & feel. It worked as today we have 1834 members.

With the help of our new members we've implemented a lot of new ideas and products. We are in the final process of switching our store / site over to a secure server meaning we can start accepting Credit Cards on the website to streamline transactions for merchandise and tournament entries.

We are configuring the Radio Show (online) however gaining the proper equipment for the show is a little challenging I'm hoping it should be up & running in August I just have to find mixing equipment that is compatible with my computer & I've already bought & returned two items that didn't work so far.

I want to thank again anyone that has donated to the site as we wouldn't be still running if the donations weren't coming in. This site is funded on donations alone & I want to keep it FREE and accessible for anyone that wishes to register & participate on FWE, nobody likes Lurkers, Lurkers are Potlickers in my book

Aqua Pimp & JT on the site have been great supporters of FWE. Aqua Pimp was our first sponsor here on FWE and we thank him for that. JT has allowed us a marina to host our tournaments and a new "hangout" not to mention he named the newly renovated marina "West End Marina" and soon will be the only place on the south shoreline offering dock side fuel for boats.

In fact all our sponsors on FWE Past & Present have all helped put us on the map. The items they donate and aid us with during tournaments is a huge bonus and not only helps them but helps us.

The top posters have constantly been driving FWE and starting new topics, posting good information we thank them as there participation and dedication to this site is clearly noted by their post counts and content they post. No need to list them but here they are should you wish to look: Click Here

We have a group of moderators on the site that are on here regularly. They are members with some extra power that allow them to weed out bad posts or ban spammers. Originally I was the only one doing it & there was no way for me to monitor the website 24/7. They all have extensive knowledge of VBulletin and are here to help the site run smoothly if you have an issue that arises with one just send me a PM and I'll handle it.

Congratulations to everyone as this is a big accomplishment a site I started that was one page now has too many pages to count. A library of useful information & content and a member base that is second to none!

Thank you all for supporting FishWestEnd

    Tight Lines

Congrats Coe. I sure enjoy it here-other than Moonpie's jokes (J/K Moonpie)!!
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

They get worse when your on his boat.

                  Great site Coe.

I've known Aqua Pimp and JT for years.
I fished with AP a few times and have learned alot from him.
I still haven't recovered from the time we did the crab trap clean-up on his boat.

JT and I have been trading barbs for years,.....I think it started when he claimed to have fished SLP first and it was HIS!
I will finally concede,..................JT is older than dirt, so he may have fished it before the Karankawas.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.
