I always slow down to below planing speed to go through the causeway, pelican bridge out of courtesy. What does the law say? Can you blaze through the main artery of the bridge at 40 MPH legally?

Unless there's a sign posted that says slow no wake, but I always see people just blow through it.
Yeah, and all the muchachas they call me big pappa, when I throw pesos their way!

You can go through both on plane.

I usually go through the causeway on plane, but rarely do I go through the Pelican bridge on plane.

If you come down on plane, be careful during extreme tide movements because I have seen folks have issues with steering due to the tide movements

I hear ya on the tide issues. Also doesn't hurt to slow down and "look both ways" for blind spots...

The law allows you to operate the boat in a "safe manner to protect those on board" I think that means good judgement. Watch out or all the "Crazies" out there

I usually drive through Pelican bridge but I usually go one or two right of the bridge itself I can see anchored boats on the approach from Causeway Rail Bridge
