  • 74 inch bull shark

caught this 74 inch bull shark wednesday morning around 2am infront of jamaica beach. We tied up to the first piling infront of J beach at around 10pm, after missing 5 times we finally hooked up at 1:53am and eventually landed this sucker at 2:37am. Fresh dead cut bait was the ticket, great fun... i apologize if the picture if blurry...

correction.... we were fishing on the bay side of jamaica beach. we tied up to nearest piling of the bay entrance into jamaica beach**** (hooked the shark right infront of the yellow stucco house with the red tile roof)

They are around. Probably a good thing we don't usually see them or I'd never get in the water !!

                Nice catch!

You'd laugh if you've ever been up in the air over SLP you can see the dark shadows cruising the cuts all over the place.

Saw a picture this weekend of a pretty large shark caught in one of the canals close to Stewart Road in Lafitte's Cove. The bartender (Matt) at GCC caught it and has the picture on his phone. Judging from the two pictures, I would guess the canal shark was a little under 5'.

I hope you killed that thing. I sure am glad my wife isn't a member here or the wading we have planned with the young boys this weekend would be off for sure.

I'll try to swing by there this weekend and see if I can either get it or get him to post it on here.
