I'm still using Costa Eliminators with the old 400 lens.
They've been excellent glasses. Highly recommended.
I can spend all day on bright water and have zero eye strain at end of day.
If these ever die on me I'll be replacing immediately with the 580 lens.

Sunglasses are like shoes. Good ones are worth the money.
Once you get older you'll be glad you took care of your eyes and feet!

I have the Costas with blue mirror, but sometimes later in the day they change colors due to my rose colored eyes.

I agree on the Costa 580 lenses - they are absolutely incredible. I have had my Triple Tails with 580 blue mirror lenses for 2 years now and they are still like new. If I ever lose this pair, I will waste no time in replacing them with an identical pair.

They are expensive ($250) but worth every penny of the cost.

I wear the 580 Green Mirror Lens with Amber... switching from the 400's I used to wear to the 580 was like when I switched from the Yellow / Red / White RCA cable to HDMI on my TV... I now see the world in HD

I love my Costa's, but I also have had 2 pair of the Magellan's from Academy and love those as well.

As far as lens quality goes, Costa's are top notch. Dont look through a pair of 500 lenses or else be prepared to want them badly!

As far as fit goes for my little head, I love the Magellans and good glass too. The only thing (not really a bad thing) is the Magellan's are kind of an amber lens, which is great for cloudy "bright" days. I use those as my backups or when its cloudy but "bright" since the amber lense doesnt really brighten things up, but "highlights" stuff on overcast days.

My Costas are the Triple Tails with standard glass and I love them. There are a lot of other great eyewear companies out there, but I definately recommend Costa Del Mar, they are worth the price if you can afford them.

Whatever you get, be sure to get polarized, you definately want to protect your eyes out on the water or wherever you are for that matter.

Fish gillz don't fit my face they are too small for my face. They don't block out any light either. Costa's are the only ones that work well for me.

If I was going to buy some more, I'd git the Costa with the reflective blue lenses instead of the smoke color I got. For very bright, sunny days the reflection, polarization, and UV protection, the blue is the way to go. Makes ya feel cooler somehow, looks cool too. For cloudy water on cloudy/hazy days, the smoke can be better.

With my vision starting to going to heck, I might need prescription sunglasses. You might consider that because you can watch you cast, line, and retrieval so much better. Expensive but worth it IMHO.

Yeah, my grand-daddy always used polarized clip-ons you could flip up or down if you had regular glasses. He was a baaaaad dude on a fly line, always caught some big brutes and sows.

I have no idea which commercial grade glasses there are out there now, but the Ray Ban wrap arounds I had were great. I have prescription glasses now, but just make sure they are polarized. Remember - you get what you pay for and you will be wearing them ALL Day LONG...

quality and COMFORTABLE sunglasses are a must when out on the water all day. I buy the cheap costas @ ~$125 I think of it like a fishing rod and reel. You buy the most expensive ones you can afford!

I love my costas and owned them for about 2 maybe three years with no problems. They have a lifetime warranty so there should not be any worries. Save up and buy a quality pair. Best glasses I have owned
