  • reds in the marsh

did anyone this past weekend or week find any reds tailing up in the shallows

I looked, but found nothing to good.

The water was very high, so the reds tend to disappear.

However, i found reds in abundance in 5 ft of water over shell

I did not see any reds in the grass because of the tides.

I caught 9 reds in two sessions wading the coves. I saw them waking

I got on some yesterday afternoon when the tide is high you have to look way up in the grass. I caught some that were at least 10' up in the grass. I felt like I was bass fishing just pitching a jig in there.

That is because you are the man Kenny. Donna and I hit it on Saturday and did not find one bit in the marsh. I agree the water was high, but it is my understanding that the reds get up against the marsh when the tide is higher then normal. Am I wrong?

Yup. Found some tailer's that were willing to cooperate. I had to pole the skiff into about 5 inches of water to get to them. All the fish I found were babysitting schools of finger mullet in clear water.

I found them Saturday as well when I was scouting some areas. Also found a bunch of BW teal and mallards

I saw the teal also on saturday. They are beautiful this time of year with their full plumage. I also saw redfish wakes but no tails
