    Lake Waco Crappie Fishing

    Fished friday evening with my cousin for a few hours. We caught 17 keepers with probably 25 or so throwbacks. There was some good quality this trip. The 2 in the picture are 15.25 and a hair under 15 inches. They werent all this big, but over 2 trips we caught at least 5-6 that were 14+ inches.
    Then we went saturday morning and got rained on off and on. The wind was so awful the trolling motor couldnt keep us over the pile. It was blowing 20-25. My cousin who mostly fishes freshwater kept saying "Man, these are f***in ocean waves!". I got a kick out of that. Fished from 10:30 to 2:30 before we finally got blown off by rain. We caught 15 keepers and threw back maybe 8. All in all a pretty good trip.

                    When we cleaned em, it had just as much meat as a 16-17 inch trout. This is only my second time crappie fishing and I have already caught 4 that were 14+ inches. If only I had that much luck in the brine!

                      Save a couple of slabs for your old POP who was working the Aggie Mom Booth Saturday. Glad yal caught some good ones. Good eating!

                            Way to go!! Man, them are some bigguns!! BTW, what's an aggie doing in Bear country anyway?
