  • Blockade Runners Weekend of 4-16,17,&18

Things are coming together for the Womack family weekend out there. Some things not as smoothly as Tres and I would like, but that's what happens when you get a bunch of people together.

Tres is comin' down tomorrow to get out there and clean the place up for the guests. Then the guests begin to arrive Thurs. night. If anyone wants to come by and sit on the front porch for a while, it's lookin' like Sunday during the day might be the best time. Y'all please remember there will be a lot of kids out there, so this will be a real family atmosphere. No cussin', etc. if you do come out.

I was hoping we could have a jam session with all the guitar folks out there like 2112 and Ibtsoom, but things are already a bit stressful with the amount of people and especially kids coming out. We'll probably have to wait for another time for a front porch jam session.

The following weekend is likely out for most everyone. My grandmother passed away yesterday, so I'll be headed home to New Orleans for her services.

Report and pics to follow when this shindig is in the books.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. She is in a much better place. At 97, she was ready to be with my grandfather whom she lost in '98. I'm so glad that she hung around long enough to see her home completely re-done following Katrina, and also to see the Saints win the Superbowl.
