guys up here in booger county use to shoot boars that had been cut..20-30 years ago it was common that they would chase down these "vicious" hogs w/ dogs and grab them by their hind legs and cut their nuts off. these were 200lb plus hogs....grabbing a hog by his hind legs pretty much renders him weak....would you like to do that as sport? if you dont believe me, look it up on the internet. because if its on the internet, it must be true right?
      Like I said, cowboy up.

There are definitely hogs in that area - I live on the west end of Galveston and have seen them. In fact a buddy of mine has about 100 acres on the west end that are eaten up with them. What happened to this guy is rare but it is possible. I am thinking about tracking him down to ask him about it firsthand. If you zoom on the picture, you can see what lok like bandaged stitches above his left elbow.

I posted a report about it 4 years ago when it happened... There was maybe 30 members back then lol

I have no clue why it stopped I was out there just pushing the SeaArk off cause I took a wrong turn... I get her moving I'm in my waders its 30 degrees out wind is howling out of the North at like 20 mph and this beast comes running at me from out of the brush I go to get out of the mud / water... I sink to my knees in mud... Waders are now holding me down... I rip them off and go flying into the boat... Grab the shotgun turn and the beast is gone! After about 5 min of spotting flash light and listening there was no sign of it... I'm really surprised it didn't continue to come as I was screaming like a little girl when I sank trying to get out of the water

Jumped out on the other side after retrieving my waders and began to pull instead of push lol... Got the boat turned around and into deep water cranked engine... Wouldn't start... 4 more cranks and battery dies because of cold the gas tank I realized later on the fitting was sucking air so we had to swap tanks which was the empty one so had to pour gas into other tank... No go because battery dead so I grab a broken paddle sit on bow of the 24' boat and paddled for 3 hours back to the ramp a normal 20 min boat ride resulted in me paddling, pushing and nearly getting eaten alive on a mud flat... Did I mention that going into a North wind with a paddle is NOT FUN! This prompted me to buy a Gator-Tail no more getting out to push I go where I want to now

Sullivan Ranch, located at about 12 Mile Road which is well East of the pass but I have seen them further west than that and there is no reason they could not roam the pass asrea at night.

I hunt them hard too, not in Galveston but at a 400 acre place in Madison County (Navasota River Bottom) that I lease. I have killed a lot of them and walked up on a lot of them in the dark (not a great feeling when you only have a bow), and every now and again you get one with a nasty temper that will run at you instead of away. This guy's experence is going to make me a little more cautious as I have gotten kind of complacent about being around them.

Hey I resemble that remark. Sullivans sold the hogs to the city along with the sand.

I like hogs (4 legged ones) and hope that I see one at SLP-I damn tired of shooting feral cats-some troll in a toll both will turn my azz in for dem cats, but heck with hogs-he can't beotch about that!!

Now, I guess I can't shoot at those "tannin hogs" on da beach though. I doubt my barrel would work anyway on those.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Yes they are around and they go wherever they want whenever they want, usually at night. Plenty of coyotes as well.

                              Good one about the cats.
