  • Engine won't start...

Started it and ran it fine two days ago. Tried to start it up this afternoon and couldn't get it to run. I made sure the bulb was firm, it's cranking fine it just won't start. The only thing I can think of is I added a 5 gal drum right before I tried to start it. It's a 2 stroke 60 hp yamaha... I got the gas from the valero here in jb. Hope it's not bad.

I know you probably already throught of it, but check the kill switch. I went through a couple days of troubleshooting and headscratching once because of a bad kill switch.

Wow so after all that trouble shooting it was the kill switch. Not sure why it was off but I didn't even think of that. Thanks coachlaw for tip, I sure feel smart right now haha.

I sure am glad I said it Bro. I thought about it and I wasn't sure if I should even post anything. It's amazing how those little things can make us feel so ridiculous when we forget them. Whom amongst us has not forgotten to put the plug in the boat at least once.

Last time I forgot the plug was 2 winters ago. Water temp was high 40's. I learned my lesson, haven't forgotten it since.

Had kill switch happen to me twice-once almost got wiped by that huge waterspout 2 years ago that went thru West bay-wire corroded and broke while trying to beat storm--same thing on same boat about 15 years earlier in Port O-dang wire broke. I don't have to worry about that boat anymore-thanks Ike!!

                    Good call Sandy!!!

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. Hahahha Good one! I've done that before and completely forgot. Last night I was going through the whole "try to fire and look at the plug to see if it's wet, no-gas, yes- no fire, thing. Now I feel stupid too for not thinking of that too.
