  • BLACK JACK TOURNAMENT - Preliminary Plans

Our April & May tournaments are being combined. A "black jack" tournament will be the name of the game... With Redfish & Trout being our targeted species.

I have yet to confirm but I'd like to have all Flounder brought in alive and donate them all to the Sea Center. Hopefully with the help of MudSkipper we can get them out here.

We're going to shoot for the May tournament date of Saturday May 22, 2010 for our Tournament.

Black Jack = Closest to 21" without going over. Earlier measured fish wins...

Individual tournament, fishing with other tournament anglers permitted and any number of groups teams etc... Yall fight it out before arriving to measuring table

Entry Fee: ~ $50.00 / angler (still working on details, costs etc)

More details to come but mark your calendars. Registration will be up early April.

    All participants will receive:

1 year subscription to Texas Outdoors Journal (just named #1 hunting & fishing magazine for Texas)

    FishWestEnd Hat, Koozie, & Sticker

Were going to ask our sponsors if they'd like to contribute anything.

I've spoken with Texas Marine and they will be putting a door prize together.

Going to try and get a couple rods for the two winners, I'll be contacting the rod guys.

    Runner up prizes etc.

We also might enlist the services of Roy Perry who does amazing work with metal and get him to make a nice flounder for the angler that brings in the most live flounder! He made the trophies last year for the Slam Tournament.

We look forward to having a great turnout. I haven't spoken to JT yet but perhaps we can utilize the newly renovated facilities.

This tournament will be open to EVERYONE guides included!

I'm still finalizing details so this is all subject to change.

    Regards,

    Coe

Coe, will there be a redfish and trout blackjack or whomever comes in fish with either species closest to 21" wins?

BTW, I like the flounder idea!

To make it even more interesting, how about a side pot for flounder and if you bring in a Slam, you get a bonus. Just a thought.

                      Cool Coe.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. We can do a side pot for flounder, however its still going to have to be the most live ones brought in...

I do not want to measure or weigh the flounder. I only would like to transport from live well to holding tank / transport vehicle.

Side Pot can be most live flounder brought in? I just don't want to stress them by measuring / weighing etc.

Its imperative you keep Flounder well oxygenated and water fresh I don't want a boat load of dead flounder pulling up.

Should you need an oxygen system send a PM to Thomas aka "Texxan1" he has setup for sale and let me tell you THEY WORK!!!!

Entry fee is going to be $60 sorry for any confusion but this will allow a better payout and also help with getting more prizes etc.
