    Jerry,
not sure about 4 wheelers, but I don't see why they would be different. Maybe it has to do with the speed.

Thanks Mike-I read the "new" law as posted in GDN today-you cannot use golf cart on beaches closed to motorized vehicle unless handicap sticker. ATVs aren't defined as golf carts, so illegal on any road and also not allowed on "closed" beaches-thanks Lyda Ann and rest of POS Galveston City Council-did ya get alotta tax revenue from Pointe West or only "other revenue"???

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. I'd bet 99.99% of the taxes for Galveston come from the West End... not really but yall get my drift

It is quite substantial. I don't think the GHA $180,000 for each "house" under their Public Housing plan will be taxable since it is a gummint type entity-I may be wrong though. I bet some of us would like a basically free, new, $180K house supplied by gummint. After Ike, I am purdy sure I couldn't get quite that for my place now-and yep, I have more than that in it and bought over 10 years ago-remember how little FEMA actually covered and paid!!! They used "redwood" as replacement wood for valuation for my staircase since their "guideline" for pricing on treated pine was so ridiculous, the adjuster used redwood to "try" to make it right or closer to what it'd cost to replace and since this is my homestead and primary residence, no depreciation was used in valuation. Just nuts.

          Ooops, off subject.
