Yeah, I've been calling 007 since 7:15. No answer on either phone, yet he posted here at 8pm? Mike, if you wanna go, get with Fuzzy. I'll bring you home Sunday.
Aside from 007, everything is in order and looks good. Ibtsoom is bringing his own boat and he will probably get there early, so reeltime and fuzzy, if you see a Southshore out there, it's ibtsoom. I plan to get there no later than 10am. I reckon ibtsoom and reeltime will get to the wiring and everyone else can get on the dry wall and moving things around with me. We'll get to the soffit when the wiring's done. If 007 makes it, he can get right on that while we mess with the menial stuff. If we get everything done by the end of the day, we'll have Sunday just for fishing. That will be a cool change.
We'll have red beans and rice for lunch, and it's almost as good as my mom's. I'll be cooking my big breakfast Sunday morning. If 007 doesn't make it out, I'll be alone all day Sunday if anyone wants to come out, no problem picking you up at the ramp. - SandyFrom 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. Good hearing it Caz.
Kenny, I've had girls out there. My last serious girlfriend really liked it, but things didn't work out with that. Had one out about a month ago just for a bit, but she turned out to be certifiably insane. The place isn't really nice enough for the fairer sex just yet. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Well, the weekend had a rough start at the ramp. Ibtsoom, Fuzzy, Reeltime, 007, Schu, and I got launched the flotilla of 3 boats and we all came to an abrupt stop at the mouth of the channel. I don't think I have to tell y'all the tide was LOOOOW. 007 put on his waders and got out to push. He started with my boat, but couldn't quite get us over the hump, so I jumped into the FRIGID water in my all too short boots. Once we were free, he went back and pushed the other 2 boats over the hump. It sure would be nice if they'd dredge that. When I first began launching there 4 years ago, they said it would be "soon".
So anyway, we made it to the camp and I fixed red beans and rice for lunch as everyone got to work. Ibtsoom and reeltime did the wiring, 007 and fuzzy tackled the soffit, and Schu and I got after the dry wall and insulation. We got a lot done working in teams like that. When the work was done, I got Schu back to the dock and ibtsoom took off for a crawfish boil. The rest of the guys went fishing while I got dinner started and kept working on the drywall. A neighbor who lost his camp in Ike came by and visited. He's starting to rebuild soon and I was able to convince him to take some things from me to get them out of the way.
When the guys got back, we fixed dinner and mounted the new fishing lights. Nobody did any fishing, but we dined on ribs, leftover red beans and rice, a big roast, and grilled bananas for dessert. I did forget about the bananas though. So only one was able to be eaten. It was a bit too chilly to sit outside, so the kitchen once again became the hang out spot. We sat around the heater and told stories until around 1am or so. 007 was the first to retire and fuzzy literally crashed. Reeltime and I were not far behind them. It was a glorious sleep.
Of course I was the last to wake up at 7:30. Fat Albert wanted breakfast and he would not be denied. I reckoned everyone else would want breakfast, so I started cooking my big breakfast. Before I could get the bacon finished, they all took off for fishin'. When I finished cookin' breakfast, I got to work. I'd sit and enjoy the porch, do a little work, rinse, repeat. I had planned on fishin', but there is so much to do, and me with no dead scrimps, I just had fun hangin' with Fat Albert. Around 11, with my big breakfast still untouched, I figured I'd better get lunch started, so I began the big boil. Corn, potatoes, mushrooms, bok choy, and sausage went into the pot. The guys came back after an offshore adventure, got loaded up with food and took off again for some mud runnin'. They'll have to tell you about that.
I got back to work, but I was hampered by a lack of contractor bags. Someone who shall remain nameless was supposed to come out and bring some, but I couldn't get him on the horn.
The guys came back around 3:30 looking much the worse for wear. That's how things go when you fish with an international spy.
I got them to eat some more, and they packed up and left. Thanks to reeltime for taking some of the extra material off my hands. It's getting to the point we need the room to get more work done. I couldn't stomach the thought of leaving early. So I stayed for a couple more hours. Albert and I had a good old time. He even helped me clean up the kitchen by knocking over a jug of water.
And they say animals are therapeutic.
Thanks to all the guys who came out and got things done and made it such a fun trip. I had a great time. Next weekend I plan on getting the very last of the drywall out and get everything ready for some wall panels. If TMO can shake loose of his latest dance phase, that might be in the works.

I could have stopped and got scrimps, but then I wouldn't have been on time.
As for Kenny, he has a point, but it ain't like I've never taken a woman out there. I just need to find another good one. All the ones I've met lately are freakin' nuts. I've got to wonder if there are any out there that are intelligent, attractive, unattached, AND non-insane. Wouldn't be too terrible if they were skinny enough to give me medium children too.
