    I would have put some scaup in, but as you can see, that was an impressive photochop and they take some time.

        ive got a number of his prints, both regular and gicl'ee that look just like an original in my house. i also have the book "John P. Cowan----A Texas Treasure" that has a copy of most every picture he made if that would help you. It would be real easy to copy and scan.

        I even have a few old Humble Oil monthly magazines that his art work is in. Without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, wildlife artist.

          That book says "The Glory Hole" was 650 acres of Arkansas pin oaks surrounded by a water control system. He says that the he lowered the water in the picture and that it was chest deep and they froze in it. The seat does warn hunters in direct terms that it is reserved for canines only.

            Its the one Cowan prints I've been waiting to buy. I have many of his prints around my place and have been collecting his art work for gosh, 15 years now.

              I've got that book too...had it for a long time...guess i should of thought about scanning a pic out of it. That's the Aggie in me....

              Hold on to those Humble Oil works...those things are really gonna be worth something one day i'm sure.

              JT...you see in the book where it talks of a former president hunting that same place?

                  yes i did. Thats a real interesting book; and its cool to think of those guys back in the day camping out all up and down the west end to slp. And what they did for conservation.
