I was thinking maybe some of the guys that fish the WEA tourneys would like to have some live music after the weight in... I have a good friend that is in the country music industry and I talked with him today about it. He said he would charge us 1000.00 to come out and rock the dock... I figued we could all pitch in and book him for the next tourney. His name is Rex Robards and he is well known through out th eTexas music scene.. What do you think is it doable...

Now that sounds fun! I wonder if Avery's would pitch in since they stand to make some $ off the deal?

averys name is changing to "mackeys"..1000 bucks is alot of $$$ when you could put moonpie on display like they do at the county fair; and throw in a portable radio for entertainment.

Usually a bar will hire a band for a grand if they can sell about ten times that much in booze - no cover or low cover at the door. For a smaller group it's tough to pay that kind of coin. So I'm not sayin' you can't get a good act, but there's a bunch of great guitarists and singers amongst us ... after a beer or five Johnny Cash songs sound pretty good if you sing along loud enough and holler.

I gatta good imitation of "Smoke on the Water" for 007 too! Shad, Beach Bum Gary, and others come to mind, much better than me.
