  • Nice Weekend of Fishing

Well this past weekend was solid for fishing. Had a chance to finally break in my new flounder gigging light with some success. Had some success at night under the lights with the reds. Picked up some decent fish on Sunday drifting the flats on Trout Support lure and top water. Largest speck was a skinny 25" caught on top water (and released).

Yea it's all BassPro had when I went to buy one. It's actually too heavy and too long for my taste, but it's what I have for now at least. I do feel a little like King Trident when I hold it though.. LOL.

Ive been looking for the cheap, wooden handle double prong gig H&H makes that Academy sells for 2-3 years now. Cant find them at ANY stores.. Ive ordered 30 of them online(twice) for me and Steve at the bait camp; and when they get here, they're the aluminum crap and I send them back.

I bought mine at the Bass Pro in Pearland off 288, back in January I believe. I had looked at Academy and Fishing tackle unlimited before that without finding much of a selection. I will say it's solid as hell construction.. but also it's huge as you can tell from the photos and pretty heavy. On the upside it's very sturdy and I was actually using it to poll myself along in my kayak.
