Beach quality sand dredged from the ship channel . Really ? All the heavy metals gravitate to the deeper bay , as in the ship channel . Louisiana has some rock levee's that run parallel to the beach with cuts between them . That makes more sense to me . Prevents beach erosion and creates calmer beach waters . The powers that be might shrink back from the concept of no pounding onshore surf . But , splashing in the calmer , cleaner surf and better fish able waters would be a plus to me .
