If I remember correctly on the long the rook takes the place of the queen. The rules just says for rook to be placed on the other side of the king place. Usually it is the bishops place but since it's a long I think it is going to be the queens place where the rook ends up.

I'm getting a bit lost myself. Someone bring a chess set to the club meeting and we'll have lessons.
I could use them.

LMAO! That's just funny right there.
As for the photo contest, I think we're waiting for the bossman to get back from his trip to make a vote, so it may not be too late to enter the fray if you have a pic that's not in PORTRAIT!

The easiest way to remember how to castle in chess ....
Simply slide the rook to the square next to the king . Jump the king over the rook .
Of course , the rook nor the king cannot have been previously moved .
The king cannot be in check .
The castling cannot put the king in check .
The squares that the king moves through during castling cannot be open to attack by an opposing piece.GEORGE A. BRANARD, COLOR SERGEANT, CO. L, 1 ST TEXAS INFANTRY, HOOD'S TEXAS BRIGADE, C.S.A. : S.C.V.
