I don't know if I can see you not doing a little work.......

If we don't head up to our place, Pencil me in as a possible. I really need to work on my shop and get some arrows built but the only time I've been on the water so far this year was when I came down and help the weekend before last. So to say the least I'm primed for some time on the water.

They will be pouring concrete for the memorial next weekend, but I don't know much about helping in that respect. I need a little break for Derek if you know what I mean, just like you need a little break for Sandy......

Ibsoom, please feel free to post the photos. I wanted to do it, but with the update, it's just too late for me to do it now. I'll post my pics tomorrow night.

Thanks to WillieP, who was a chainsaw maniac again and came all the way from Baytown TWICE, to 007 who fought through a gimp ankle and took out the fiberglass tank among other things, to Likesemfishbig11 who jumped on everything he was asked to tackle, and finally to Ibtsoom who showed up just in the nick of time to haul off the last 3 loads.

          IT is done.

Weather permitting, next weekend I'd like to invite every single person who ever lifted a finger at the Ghost Camp to come out to Blockade Runners and enjoy a day or 2 of relaxation. Just come for a few hours or the whole time, it doesn't matter. No obligations, and no work will be allowed or attempted. Call it a Ghost Camp is Gone Party. First 3 cases of brew are on me. I'll have a rack of ribs and stuff for a boil. If you want to bring your own and throw it on the grill or stove, bring it on. This will be a very informal thing. Just come, relax, and enjoy. No boat? I pick you up at the ramp.

This is not to be confused with the upcoming Blockade Runners re-dedication party to happen sometime in early June. That will be a much bigger deal.

Glad I was able to help you out Sandy. Since Sandy will be telling the whole story in another post I'll just post up a few pic's here. You will see Sandy hauling the last load to the dock and then just kicking back at the camp.

I'll try to make it for one day. We may not work this weekend, won't know until Thursday. May even bring the boat; it needs running anyway. I'm glad you got this behind you and I know it was a reeely big project.

I'm happy just to have been a part of the whole demo and rebuild. It sure was a satisfying sight to see the ghost camp gone.
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

Sandy: How about let's get some fiberglass insulation in those outer walls and the ceiling before covering/recovering?

When we built our place on Anegada, we did not insulate. The walls are block, so they really are not an issue. But the ceiling definitely brings in the heat during the day. That is the only real mistake we made.

It is too easy to do to not do it.

I'll foot the bill for the material.
