Had a day off today so I went and fished.
Last Sunday when the tide was way out I was catching them on sand eels and barely moving them so I started out with the same lure today and same basic retrieve but soon gave up on it because the tide of course was much higher and the water wasn't quite as cold.
I finally got hit working higher in the water column and switched to a fat boy.
Caught five and lost one that I could only guess the size on.
She came up thrashing immediately and then started taking line, 30 seconds later she pulled off. I would have traded all the trout I caught for that one today with no second thought.
Bigger trout I landed today was 22"
    Caught some small reds too.
Had to get off the water by 11 30 so I could make it to the deer park courthouse to sit here and write this report while I wait to pay a ticket.
    YYAAAAYYYYY!!!

Great report, looked like it was a nice day to be on the water fishing. Thanks.

Thanks guys. I'm hoping this basic pattern will hold through the rest of winter. Doesn't look like it's going to stay cold enough for long enough to really shut things down.
