  • Taking the grandson wading 10/24. Tips on where to go?

We went to the mouth of the Brazos last weekend and had a great time. We caught some lady fish and bluefish. He caught a flounder and was really excited!

We don't have a boat, but do have 4 wheel drive.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks. I used to be able to park and walk back to Cold Pass and do pretty good but I don't know if you can still park nearby. Could try around access 6 don't know if they're running in the surf, or if I should commit to the backside of the pass down the fence line on the Galveston side. I was kind of curious if anyone's been down that way lately. Probably just go take a look instead of "somewhere in the bay" that I guess I'll hear.

Are you staying on the west end? Theres some wade spots at pelican island. Flounder might be kicking up a tad more by than. If not than slp flats but stay east of the toll booth. Currents can really rip out of there. The surf by the pass ought to have bulls and slot reds in it. Sportmans road and 8 mile has good hard bottom to it and its close to confederate reef. Hope it helps. Lot of people are tight lipped but theres no secret spots anymore with the technology and social media.
