  • Sunday Morning - West Bay

The wife and I hauled fourteen 13-year old girls down to our place in JB for a birthday slumber party for my daughter...needless to say, I had to sneak away from the craziness Sunday morning to wet a line.

Hit the water at 6a...solo...went to the marsh. Threw top waters for an hour or so...no takers despite plenty of bait and blow ups. Had 1 short strike. Switched to plastics when the tide started going out. Managed 6 trout, three of them keepers...2 flounder, 1 keeper...and 1 rat red...all on plum/chartreuse, 1/8th oz. Released them all to fight another day. Back at the dock by 9:30a to help my wife manage the fun.

It was a great morning on the water. Slight NE breeze, water was in great shape.

Wouldn't have believed you if it weren't for the pics.

That might be the difference between a fish tales forum and a fishing forum. I think we have both in this forum, a lot of great fisherman and a few rogue writers penning out fish stories.

I'm no great fisherman for sure...and I'm not a rogue writer either.
