  • Water Temp - which station for West Bay?

Looking at the water temp chart that is linked on the site, which station is most accurate for West Bay?

I'm sure you can get a thermometer that will read water temp in the canal, but Alex is right. The temp varies greatly especially in West because of the large amount of shallow water and difference in bottom.
The station at Eagle Point is probably the closest though.

            Mike:

Doesn't your GPS/depthfinder give temp? Check your menu, most do.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. Jerry, yes it give me temps. I just would like to pull up the current temps on my Iphone before I make a decision to take the boat out. I might be over thinking it, but it would be a nice to have.

Just got off the phone with a buddy of mine while he was on the water yesterday he found 42 degree water on the south shoreline and 51 degree water in areas along the back lakes on the northside. So where you launch and fish can be miles apart...

That is a very good point. I will just watch my GPS and not worry about it so much. Just jump in and fish!
