BOAT Show Highlights ... and things to check out
I was told Saturday was crazy busy, so I try to stay away, and spend my money on the slow nights.
Things you might want to check out.
1st - The Woodee fishing rods in the 500 isle, are a preety good deal ....
I saw some decent deals on a 6'6" TW rod for only $69 ....IMO preety good for the money......and while your there, pick up some of the tony-c clips. These were once sold by Mr. Paul Brown, but no more since he retired.
2nd - just a little further down, go see Brady bunch & Outcast (brice) and get a quote on insurance. They insure a ton of 2coolers. They also have some Savage Offshore fishig rods to look at while your there. The LED's are cool too.
3rd - I always stop and talk to the Stone and Sons Marine booth. They are not selling anything at the show, but are there answering questions about repairs and maintence. Since these guys don't sell motors, I believe thay have a more honest answer on what is a good motor and what is not. Did you know they can get your boat in and out in 24hrs right now?
Why wait until spring to have the maintence done, get it now to go catch some big trout.

4th - Go find the Boomerange booth that is selling some big offshore baits. They have a set of pliers that are real solid for $29. Made of Aluminum and cuts braid. Worth checking out.
5th - I stoped and talked to Get-away-Adventure lodge about Port Mansfield Big trout fishing. They missed the Red-tide this year, and Bruce believes this will be the year his clients will C&R a spec in the 13lb range.
He knows his stuff, so I don't dought him, and we have a trip scheduled for May at his lodge. Can't wait !!!
6th - Set a date for February in Baffin with Poco Loco Lodge and Capt Donk. If you have a chance, to fish this year, get by there to his booth. He is runnig a special that you need to jump on.
Last, my favorite boats this year, are the Shallow Sports, new Gulf Coast, the Majek's and the Offshore 36' Grady White w/ trip Yammi 350's.
