What do you wear under your breathables in water that is 49 degrees?

I wear 5mm neoprene in winter. Don't ever wear breathables I don't wade much I have a bad back and tend to prefer drifts or my fancy stake out stick

The wading I do is tossing out decoys

To answer your question I wear jeans no long underwear or anything though I will be wearing them come Saturday at 4AM

Been thinking about a cheap pair of neoprenes for the really cold stuff. Maybe we can develop a decoy cannon to prevent the need of setting out the spread by hand!

Tonight I'm testing something new....wrapping my arse in a blanket!:0

Serioiusly, get something like Under Armor or another thin nyon as a base layer. follow that up with a thicker layer like sweat pants or a lined jogging suit. If you can find a good pair of polar teck type fleece pants that would be the ticket. I went double socks the last time out, for lack of anything really useful to cover my feet. I'm accustomed to the numb toes syndrome by now. Letely, I have done the following for the upper body, UA type nylon shirt, cotton T shirt, fleece jacket, wade jacket. My upper body stays very comfortable. Hands and toes are the worst of it, part of the toes syndrome is from two layers and tight boots cutting off the circulation.

Everything that I mentioned is intended to keep me warm without costing me mobility. Age does that just fine.

Neoprene waders. Polypropylene insulaters, 1-2 sets of heavy cold weather soft pants/shirts, fleece lined is great, wade jacket, -- thin wicking sock, cotton socks, fleece lined neoprene booties . Baseball cap with a "watch cap" that is lined and has ear flaps and fastens under my chin. Covers neck too. you loose alot of heat from your head and that cap is great.

I've been wearing polyester long underwear, but would like some synthetic/wool sweat pants too. Avoid cotton if you can. If it gets wet you will be miserable.

Pretty much the same. I've waded 34 degree water in Colorado with this and body getting cold wasn't the problem...hands though....
