In this instance my son went in after school to ask for help on an assignment and he berated him to the point of tears because he didn't know how to do the work and made him feel stupid. Really good role model for 8 and 9 year olds don't you think? My wife works at the same school and has heard this teacher tell the students that they are stupid and worthless and an embarrassment.

I just saw where a teacher donated one of her kidneys to one of her students. Teachers are always taking money out of their own pockets to pay for supplies when school budgets fall short or inspiring students in so many ways or providing role models for kids with deadbeat parents. They are some of the best our society has to offer.....and then there's this prick. Report the douche to his superiors and demand he give your kid an apology.....then take him out for that beer! Just sayin'.

Really too bad for your son, especially when he has to go to class every day knowing that is what happens when he asks for help and how the teacher feels about him. Not a good situation at all. You should bring this up to his superiors with him present and lay it all out. Then help your son work through all this mess!

Sounds like Bullying to me plain and simple. If the school has a police dept. File bullying charges against the teach. Talk to the principal alone and then with the teach. If that don't get results, head to the school board and set meetings up alone with Superintendent and then with the teacher present.
May want to voice an opinion against the teach in the local weekly wipe. In other words, go public with his abuse.

If all that don't work, set up a meeting with the teach in his office. When you walk in, close the door and slide a file cabinet against the door, take out a pair of gloves, put them on, and ask the teach politely if he wants to talk about your son.
But be sure you two are alone.

Your son may need counseling and that's okay. Get him some, and no matter what, remove him from that DH's room.

That is aweful ! Can he be placed in another class ? Do the suggestions of the above guys . If all else fails , do the teeth into chiclets approach and I'll slooowly remove the remaining front tooth . This shouldn't be .
