Smart allec Yes, I do have that little GPS that 007 gave me, and no, I don't know how to use it. I leave it in the truck. I only know how to turn it on. That's why I know my compass bearings. Quite simply I trust the old ways more than anything because I've been using them my whole life. This poor guy didn't even have a compass and didn't know how to use his GPS. You gotta know one way or another.

I will say your compass skills are not in question after Saturday morning!! We made it right to the mouth of TitlumTatlum with just about zero visibility!

My dad was a good teacher. I started keeping a compass log when I was 6 years old. He was the captain and I was the scribe. I didn't know what the numbers meant, but I knew if you started in one place and put the compass on that number, you ended up getting where you wanted to go. I don't write things down like that anymore, and maybe I should. Can't trust on the brain to keep it all in there. I do remember on Sat. morning I wanted badly to turn more to the left, but I kept following the bearing and we made it just right.

That guy is at the end of my canal-he and his wife built their new house right before Ike hit. Nice couple. Great job Kenny!!!

          Way to go Kenny!!

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. We had to learn compass readings when I got my Masters Scuba License I took a whole class on Navigation underwater. Very similar to boating in fog for me as when I took the class it was 5' visibility!

Fog is STILL brutal. Can not even see the bay right now and we are the first canal off. Hopefully it will lift soon, things are slowing down at work for the holidays, so I need to hit it!
