collapsed lung

Well thursday evening i randomly had chest pains and was having minor difficulty breathing, went to the doctor first thing friday morning and he sent me for x rays.... turns out i have spontaneous pneoumothorax (sp?) anyways, i had to stay 2 nights in tomball regional hospital breathing pure oxygen the entire time. spontaneous pneoumothorax (sp?) means i had a tear/hole in my lung which caused it to collapse 15%. Im home now but still having pain, doc says it should heal up on its own since its so small. Man am i glad to be out, hospital food sucks doc also said i cant scuba dive anymore, cause the pressure is likely to trigger it again looks like im gonna have to stay on top of the water from here on out .

I have no idea how it happend... i was literally helping my little sister with her math hw and i took in a deep breath, and bam it hit me like a freight train...

that's really odd in men... more common w/ women in their mid 30s. sorry to hear about that, i know they're quite painful.

Same thing happened twice to my friend, first time he was just walking around at school. Second time I can't remember what it was. The doc told him he couldn't scuba dive either. Kinda sucks....
