I'll be the devil on your shoulder. Pick you up Saturday morning at the SLP dock. 10am. You can tell the wife you're helping us work on the camp. It'll be true too. You'll just get some fishin' in during the down time. Got an All Star rod with a Citica on it for you.
From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Am I the only one that thinks this is a little extreme? A little self control goes a long ways. Something like 12 hours focused hard study wins you 4 hours fishing? Carrot on a stick

        Good luck!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, I studied hard in things I enjoyed and just got by in things that didn't interest me, guess that's why I am Golf Professional. However, a few hours fishing is good for the soul.

So in an effort to combat my addiction i have vowed to not fish anymore until i pass.. this will be for at least 9 months, im hoping not more. Sucks!!!!!!!

I have taken the following steps:

Turned the boat keys into my wife (i did look around the house today for them since she's working)
Wife has hid all of my reels
Buddy has taken my kayak into storage

Now that all my toys are gone my only escape will be through yalls posts!! I've already learned more than i ever could from this site over the past year and hope to contribute more when i start back up again!

loan me your boat since you won't be using it. I wouldn't want the motor to get stuck from sitting so long. I'll be helping you out. Props to you for wanting to get that CPA. You will be glad you did.

Definitely too extreme....one day every 2 weeks is good for the soul, and mind.
And a bit of advice.... don't let Gilbert use your boat. I heard from a certain guide down in Maty, that the only thing he knows how to run is his mouth!

Just go ahead and suck it up and get it over with. You've got to be able to afford your habit.....and like Coach said, tell her you're coming out to help at the camp and get ya a little fix at the same time.

I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

Ahh, tough stuff, but you know yourself best. Good on you for having your priorities in line, especially with the kiddo on the way. I know if I had more self-control over fishing and hunting, I'd be done with grad school much quicker. But hey, what's the rush? I get paid enough (barely) and get to fish all the time I always wonder why people are racing to their graves.
