Is there a hurricane hitting the west end? The house is shaking!!!

I was not aware that a hurricane was currently hitting the west end, what is up! Our house is shaking pretty bad right now. Does anyone have a suggestion on what we can do to stop that?

Seriously, is there a company that can come out and make the house more stable? It has been like this ever since IKE. Brand new house and it shakes when a bird farts.

Mike I got a great contractor on the island... Wayne Slessinger w/ Ocean Wood Homes he did all our repairs after Ike & our remodel and is so reliable and trustworthy he has a key to our home and will secure things and make repairs while were not there should something need attention.

Its probably the side to side motion from boat house and catwalks from the winds what's it blowing down there right now?

I have a flappin' facia board and the Old Smokey blew over, but my 46 year old house doesn't shake. They all move some and that's probably a good thing.

Kenny, is the 1st floor of your house 21 feet above ground? The 3rd floor is around 30rd feet, so when the wind blows hard, it shakes. Either way, I still think it should not shake for what we paid for it!

We have concrete pillars ours doesn't shake the boat house is a different story you can sway the whole thing just walking down the catwalk.

One solution is cross brace made with all tread and turnbuckles not the prettiest but it works and it allows for adjustments later. Just don’t bump your head on them ouch!
