Works sometimes. lol Fished SS#4 7/12 for the mid day bite and 4pm incoming tide. Water very nice and flattish but didn't even get a bump. Felt like a kid again and even swam to the 3rd bar and worked the color line with my trusty gold spoon felt confident just no takers. Looks like the surf is shot for later this week. I did get a small truck load of weed for the compost pile.

Surf looks to be pretty flat Tuesday and Wednesday, but it is really sandy way out.

I was out two weekends ago at Jamaica Beach. After crawling over the mound of seaweed and making it to the surf, although the water was brown out to 1/4 mile, if I didn't hook up with seaweed, I caught tons of ladyfish.
Then went to Jamaica beach wall at the inlet to JB and caught lots of specs (mostly small) smacks and redfish (all too small 15-18 inches) A couple of guys at one of the homes across the canal landed a 5'6" bull shark. Then something about 5' long surfaced like a submarine then slowly sank back into the depths. Any idea what I saw? I've heard about 'big uglies' on this site, was that one? Looked like an enourmous catfish, pale yellow in color. Click image for larger version

        Alligator gar.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. I've seen freshwater gars, they have big scales. This had smooth skin, no scales and no perceptible dorsal fin. It really looked kinda like a manatee, but I didn't know they were in these parts.
