  • Lost Wading Gear

We took a big wave over the "Flying Flounder" (Brads Boat) yesterday and it washed my wade box, and belt with stringer, pliers and Boga attached overboard. Had just run out of Chocolate across the intracoastal and into the bay. If you see a float attached to a red stringer in the area in the next day or so please stop and grab it. I'm sure the box is forever residing on the bottom as it's pretty heavy when it fills up with water.

I'll be down around the Pass tomorrow, maybe just maybe...maybe being somewhere in the same percentage as my winning the Texas powerball lottery...it'll float by while I'm wading!
Any account...will keep my eyes peeled!

If it smells like fish....you know I've been there!

I was lucky enough to win a belt and wade box in the raffle. All I have to replace now is the tackle, pliers, stringer and the boga.

Just curious, what caused the wave bg enough to come into the boat and wash all that stuff overboard in the bay like that? I'll be on the lookout for the stuff.

I get off the boat friday, I have a few pairs of pliers and a nice large collection of tops and corkys to help you restock, Sorry I don't have a extra boga. Shoot me a pm. Sorry for your loss.

Real bummer . Something to consider , I buckle my wade belt around the base of my cooler holder aluminum post with net and boga attached to belt . I place the net under the belt and put my wade box in the net . At worst the wade box could be washed overboard . But I cram so many plugs in the box it weighs 20 pounds and may stay put . My wade belt floats too . That was an impressive wave .

Once I was fishing a gut behind SLP . Three waders from a far off boat slogged over , fished without catching , slogged back to the boat . About 20 minutes later the light north wind blew a stringer right to me . It had three trout on it . My lucky day . I got a stringer and three fish ... More than I caught that day . HAR !

You should start diving for it. I'm sure you'll find it. I'd start looking in the middle of San Luis pass if I was you.

I'm good guys - Flapper and Curmudgeon both offered up extra gear - I'll look at getting a new boga when I get some extra funds - for now I can do the old snatch and grab with my hand. Honestly I only carry it with me during tournaments anyway. Keep an eye out for the float though - all that stuff is hanging on the end of it.

That's why I love this site - all you guys are family. Thanks to everyone.

We slowed down in chop in order for Bruce to get towards the back of the boat and as soon as we did a big wave broke over the bow of the FF.

ps.. Brad I think you're boat is stuck with that name now..

Keep trying. I'll bet the current has pushed it further out.
