The camp should get a whole new face this weekend. If anyone wants to pitch in, just lemme know. I'm planning to make it out there with VJER on Saturday morning, probably not too early since we have a club meeting the night before. Since I have next week off, I'm leaving this trip open ended. I know I have to make it to New Orleans for Thanksgiving day, and that's my only restriction.
So far it's me and VJER on Saturday, to be joined by my old high school coach, Tres Womack very late that evening. He may bring his daughter, but that's up in the air. If he does, no ogling guys! Her daddy will kick your butt! 007 will show on Sunday if he can find a ride down. Anyone else that wants to show, come on down. We'll be there until at least Monday at sunset, and perhaps until Tuesday afternoon.
Here's the plan as near as I can reckon.
Saturday: Move everything off the front porch and prepare the front wall for demo, remove old useless windows, then get old siding off. We'll pull off panels and rebuild the studs as necessary. We'll quit when we feel like it. Dinner on the grill and fishin' under the lights. Tres arrives around midnight.
Sunday: Spend the day finishing the studs, installing windows, and the door, then putting the new Hardie panels up. If we have any time in the afternoon and 007 arrives, we'll hit the Ghost Camp for a while. Dinner and fishin' under the lights.
Monday: Hopefully we'll be done with the wall, windows, and door. If so, we'll hit the Ghost Camp again.
It won't be all work. I plan on lots of relaxin' and Tres should be bringing his guitar. He's the Texas Music Song of the year winner y'all, so he's pretty good. I'll be doing a big boil of some kind this weekend. Scrimps, crabs, or just a farmer's boil, with taters, corn, sausage, etc. I'll figure it out.
