Got to love it seeing the Stros play the Yanks for a home opener. Who would have ever imagined.

I've always been a Cubs fan. First little league team I ever played for and an invite to a tryout in 1971 solidified my support for the lovable losers. It's a shame players like Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Billy Williams, Fergie Jenkins, and many others never had a sniff at a world series and looks like with their ownership these days, never will. Like thousands of others I'll hold out hope. BTW, St. Louis sucks.

The Astro's are off to a nice start. I would've thought winning one of the three game series would've been a positive start, but now it looks like a good possibility of a sweep. Solid pitching and clutch hitting have been a pleasant surprise and I like the kid throwing tonight. If we can take 2 of 3 from the Angel's over the weekend, the confidence level will hopefully help the club know they can compete on a high level. Go Astro's!

Astro's looked like their old selves last night. Anemic offense is not going to win ball games. Every time they put a couple hits together or draw a walk and a sacrifice bunt over, up comes Chris Carter to either strike out or pop up to end the inning. Trade him for a goat and wagon, call up Singleton and Springer and stick it out. It can't hurt.
