Time to gear down and get into some baseball. Good lineup of games on ESPN. Houston opening up against the Yankees should be a good indicator of things to come.

Life without cable means I see very few games anymore. Life without the National League in Houston means I'll not go to any games unless the Cards are in town. BTW, Cards WIN!

Maybe someone can help me here, my favorite Astros team was back in the day. I cant remember 2 of the starters. Heres the ones I remember, 1st base was Lee May, 2nd base Tommy Helms, ss Roger Metzger, 3rd base Doug Rader, CF Cesar Cedeno and Jimmy Wynn. Does anyone remember who caught and the other of was? For some reason Tommie Agee keeps coming to mind for the other outfielder.

maybe Jesus Alou in the OF, Johnny Edwards catching, Bob Watson did play OF before moving to third base.

I've always been a Cubs fan. First little league team I ever played for and an invite to a tryout in 1971 solidified my support for the lovable losers. It's a shame players like Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Billy Williams, Fergie Jenkins, and many others never had a sniff at a world series and looks like with their ownership these days, never will. Like thousands of others I'll hold out hope. BTW, St. Louis sucks.

I'm calling it a Cards-Rays series. No bets on a winner.

How can anyone hate the Cards? Must be jealousy. They're a class organization that doesn't just buy championships like the Evil Empire Yankees do.

Poor Cubs. Being a Saints fan, I know what that felt like. Year after year of despair. I think they're 2 years from really competing though.
