  • Well doc and Kenny, went out to snake island cove and caught one rat red on a plum / green sea shad 1/8 oz head by the geotube and then the wind picked up and damn near blew me to lake conroe.
I'll be paddling some lights later. I'm beat for now and need a few ales.
Doc I love everything mega bass makes and even painted a 110 but never considered them much for trout. Now I don't know why besides the price tag!
Finally saw some mullet busting today btw . Most in 2 to 4 ft of water.

    • I was just wondering how things were going for you down there . What was the water clarity like ? Better luck in the canals I hope . I saw one kayaker at night trolling a plastic as he cruised along .

I don't remember how I found those MEGABASS lures . Checking out lures on line I think . Yeah , that little rascal cost $20 ! Almost too afraid to throw it .

          • HAHA, Doc it looks like you've got a pluggin paradise over there ! I bet I could look through your collection for hours .
New report my friends. I went back out to the green lights at the mouth of the main canal and found reds cruising and slashing hard at glass minnows . They were eating them like sperm whale do plankton. I tried the small stuff and they ignored me. Way too much bait so I wasn't through half my box then tied on TTF bone clear glitter on 1/8 heads and nailed two nice slots. Great fights each and then picked up one bonus barely legal trout. I'll post pics when I can. I'm still up so might as well fish the sunrise!
Man I never know when to stop. I'll text you and kemmy the pics whenever I might wake up tomorrow.
            Wish yall were here!!

                        • I went fishing yesterday evening and it looks like the shad and minnows are spawning. I fished for about an hour and did not get hit.
I was up in dickinson bayou. Was out at my pa pas this morning taking the boat out of the water and the water is very clear.

Get out there when you can... may try in the morning...

                          • This thread reminds me of wading the surf many years ago. When throwing a mirrorlure and feeling that big pull, you knew it was a good fish.. just a few more of my favorites. White body red head being one of the top..Click image for larger version
