speaking of old mirrolures...

What's some of yalls favorite old discontinued mirros or any saltwater lure for that matter and why?
I've been collecting , refurbishing and customizing and could use some new ideas.

Get you a couple bone jumping minnows. Be sure to get the wife's red finger nail polish and paint the throat red.

I've retired mine to the wall of fame, blue. Along with my black /silver broken backs. It's getting kinda hard getting you of of that Florida mentality. We don't have no freak in snook in tejas. I discovered she pups and catch 2000's 8 years ago.

Haha , thanks and I have wondered about the jumpin minnow. I can still remember seeing a picture of a guy who was night fishing in the surf with one and caught a huge black tip on it. Weeeiird stuff happens in the surf sometimes :]

Producers ghost ( I think you got some when y'all were at the house) and the bingo. Grew up fishing the bingo cuz dad and grandfather truly believed in them. Caught many a trout on the bongos in my very younger days.

I think I know where some bingos might be that haven't been fished in 30 years. I'll let you know if I find them.

funny you say your collecting. I happened into a great find. My 70 year old uncle who lives in Florida but lived on the Louisiana gulf coast most of his life recently gave my mother to give to me this tackle box he had put away in his attic for some 30 years. It was a rather large box and very heavy but mom brought it home and gave me a call to come get it. She then told me that my uncle had gotten that old box from my great grandfather and all his original lures where still in it for saltwater as well as my grandfather and uncles collections. Once I opened it, there were several original hand painted wooden lures as well as old Heddon and many many more. As well as a large variety of hand tied saltwater flies. Back in the day believe it or not saltwater fly fishing was very popular on the bays. Im of coarse still separating these items slowly and will be refurbishing some, but most are still in there original boxes. Ill shoot some pics and post them up.

X2!!!! Just remember that you should only refurbish the stuff you don't mind hurting the value of , old wooden heddons especially still in the box could be worth a small fortune!
